Explore the art of the print with John Schulz, who will demonstrate woodblock and linoleum-cut printmaking techniques. Mr. Schulz's prints and drawings transform popular and everyday images culled from cast-off books and magazines, comics, catalogs, and other printed detritus, making use of random systems, sampling and cut-ups in order to reconstruct and re-contextualize them as art.
John Schulz has been teaching printmaking at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts since 1995. His works are in many public and private collections including the Boston Public Library, New York Public Library, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Antwerp, Belgium.
This is a drop-in program. Come anytime and stay for as long as you would like.
