In a world (and a museum) filled with color, “black and white” can make a strong statement. We’ll consider the impact of monochrome in many media and moments, from John Singer Sargent’s painting of an orchestra to Kara Walker’s silhouettes, charged with racial and sexual tensions. This gallery talk will be given by Alfond Curator of Education Barbara Martin.
Part of Spring into Color at the MFA.
