On the eve of its centenarian, there was a revival in enthusiasm for lithography as a fine art.  As Europe was experiencing great advances in technology and science, artists were discovering the power and potential of the printed medium on communication and culture.  In this new era, art and advertisting became inexplicably connected and the line between them forever blurred.  In this gallery talk by Boston artist Adrian Rodriguez, visitors will explore this rediscovery of the lithographic art form and its use in commerce and advertising as well as for political and social commentary in the exhibition "Art in the Street: European Posters."
