At times heroic or tragic, sensual or spiritual, the male nude in Western art draws on the power of the human body to move the viewer. Explore the allure of the figure along with the visual traditions of aesthetics, theatrics, and physicality surrounding the male nude in works ranging from the 17th through the 19th Century. This gallery talk is led by graduate student lecturer, Iris Cahill.
