Musical Instrument Gallery Talk and Demonstration

New England Conservatory Professor of Music Peter Row will discuss the history, repertoire, and playing technique of the rudra vina (also known as a bin), a type of tube-zither that has a long history in classical music of northern India. Professor Row will perform on his own rudra vina, and an important 1970s example from the MFA’s collection will be on hand for comparison visually and musically.
