Over the course of one hour, travel back one hundred years.  From Jackie O. to the early MFA Board of Directors, we will uncover John Singer Sargent's pivotal role in shaping the MFA of today.  By exploring the quirks of our own Sargent paintings, and uncovering the artist's hand all around the museum, see the MFA through the eyes of its early 20th century players.  After the talk, visit the John Singer Sargent Watercolors exhibition on your own to see more of this important artist's work.  This gallery talk will be given by graduate student lecturer, Phillippa Pitts.
