Join Amy Ross for an artist demonstration of watercolor techniques. Learn about the medium favored by the renowned American painter, John Singer Sargent during the early twentieth century and what made his work such a sensation. Visitors are invited to join in and create their own small watercolor painting.
Amy Ross is a Cambridge-based watercolor artist who conducts a playful but serious investigation of how zoology can interact with mythology inspiring her to create extraordinary creatures.
Ms. Ross was a Religious Studies major at Connecticut College, attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and holds a Master's degree in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. She has exhibited her work in galleries and museums throughout the country. She is one of the featured artists in the newly released book, Watercolor: Paintings by Contemporary Artists, from Chronicle Books.
