Join exhibition curator Dennis Carr for a full day of events related to “Made in the Americas: The New World Discovers Asia.” Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the exhibition with Dennis and learn the mystery of japanned decoration with furniture conservator Christine Thompson, before attending an afternoon of lectures inspired by the exhibition (the second day of a scholarly symposium co-sponsored by Harvard University and hosted at Harvard on Saturday, May 19). Lectures at the MFA will explore specific objects and craftsmanship techniques seen in the show. Karolik members have the special opportunity to enjoy a box lunch with conference speakers between the morning tour and the afternoon lectures.
