Dr. Chris Steiner, Lucy C. McDannel ‘22 Professor of Art History and Anthropology and Director of the Museum Studies Program at Connecticut College, will present research from his forthcoming book on Dr. George W. Harley. Dr. Harley, a medical missionary based in Liberia, was also a scholar of Mano and Dan masquerade and cultural institutions who built an unparalleled collection of Liberian masks for Peabody Museum at Harvard University and shaped the market for these artworks.
