Henri Matisse kept many different objects in his art studio, from chocolate pots to beautiful fabrics. The colors, shapes, and textures of these objects influenced his art. Draw a still life inspired by objects you might have found in Matisse’s art studio.
Take a close look at the ink painting titled Large Face (Mask) in the Gund Gallery. With just a few lines Matisse was able to beautifully paint the human face. Practice using ink and a brush to paint your own beautiful face with a few lines.
