Boston String Players is an ensemble of young professional string players who perform innovative concert programs that intertwine established classical pieces with contemporary and novel compositions of non-classical genres, often collaborating with young composers, visual artists, and performing artists. BSP, founded in 2007 by artistic director and conductor Motoki Tanaka, offers an unique collaborative music-making experience for fresh Boston-area talents, and actively promotes spontaneous and direct interaction with the audience during concerts. The mission of Boston String Players is to make classical music more accessible to a broader audience by delivering concerts that are original, entertaining, and sociable. Tonight’s program will feature a 13-piece string ensemble.
Join Conductor Motoki Tanaka, arranger Amy Fajardo, and members of the Boston String Players ensemble before and after the concert in Taste Café for a Q&A to answer your favorite questions and classical music conundrums.
