Bus Grants and Admission Waivers

The MFA offers bus grants of $250 for eligible schools visiting the MFA for guided tours between October and March each year. For information and to apply, visit Bus Grants and Admission Waivers.

Payment

Payment is due upon arrival at the MFA. A teacher or chaperone must enter the Museum first to pay in full before the group can enter. We accept cash, checks, and American Express, MasterCard, or Visa. Purchase orders are not accepted as payment.

Individual memberships and admission passes cannot be used in conjunction with group visits. All visitors admitted with your group must be included on your order.

Please note: Should your pre-written check exceed the balance due by $15 or more, the MFA will issue your organization a check to reimburse the difference. (Overpayments that do not exceed $15 cannot be reimbursed.) Should your check not cover the full balance of the order, additional payment with cash, credit card, or other means will be required at time of entry.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

General Cancellations

If for any reason you are not able to make your scheduled visit to the Museum, please call 617-369-3310 or e-mail groups@mfa.org to alert Group Sales as soon as possible. Groups scheduled for guided tours must submit notification of their cancellation to Group Sales at least one business day prior to the scheduled visit. Groups scheduled for self-guided visits must submit notification of their cancellation prior to their scheduled entry time. Groups who do not submit notification of a cancellation on time will be billed for their visit. Groups who have prepaid for their visit are welcome to reschedule but will not receive a refund.

Rescheduling

If notification of your cancellation is received one business day prior to the scheduled visit, it may be possible to reschedule your visit for a different date. If you have a reservation for a guided tour, we will attempt to reschedule the same tour for your group. Many options for guided tours sell out early in the school year, so it may not always be possible to reschedule. If the guided tour of your choice is no longer available, Group Sales will work with you to select the best available alternative for your group to visit to the Museum.
