Mark your calendar for Art in Bloom 2016 and celebrate 40 years of this exuberant spring festival at the MFA. This joyous rite of spring pairs fine art and floral design with offerings of free guided tours among MFA treasures, plus workshops, demonstrations, and lectures. Garden clubs and professional designers from across New England create floral arrangements inspired by the MFA’s works of art.
Highlights this year include a sneak peek on Friday night on April 29, starting at 5 pm. The popular Members’ Night is Saturday, April 30, and Community Day with children’s activities is Sunday, May 1. Enjoy elegant tea in the Koch Gallery Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, April 30 through May 2.
Hitomi Gilliam, a master of contemporary floral design offers master classes on Saturday and Sunday, April 30 and May 1, and, on Saturday, April 30, presents a lecture and demonstrations of her contemporary and structural floral masterpieces.
