In Iran for thousands of years, the beginning of each year has been celebrated on the vernal equinox with music, dance, and delicious food. Farzaneh Hemmasi speaks about the history of Nowruz, Ida Meftahi performs contemporary dances using Iranian traditional and folk elements, and Iran-based musician and film composer Ali Samadpour—on his first US tour—presents original work and traditional music on springtime and folkloric themes.

After the program, gather in Bravo to taste Persian delicacies and view a traditional Nowruz table display.
