Watch Shuruthe Raju, a student of Sujatha Meyyappan's Kolam Academy of Dance, and member of the Museum's Teen Arts council, take the stage for a captivating performance of Bharathanatyam dance. Bharathanatyam is a culmination of Expression, Melody and Rhythm. This ancient Indian classical dance derives its name from three basic aspects of dance; Bhava (facial expressions), Raga (melody), and Tala (rhythm); Natyam represents the dance-drama itself.
