Dates: Tuesday through Friday, Feb 19-22

Course Description: Climb aboard and travel back in time and explore ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, and many distant lands.  During your discovery, you will find temples of Athena, examine hieroglyphs, and uncover ancient coins. Record your travels in a sketch journal and then in the studio create your own treasure trove of artifacts, mosaics, coins, and more.

Instructor: Sarah Altone

Sarah Altone is a Visual Arts Teacher for 1st to 5th grade during the school year. She graduated from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (SMFA) with a Master of Arts in Teaching, Art Education for Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade. She received two Bachelor degrees from the University of Rochester in Studio Arts and Art History, where she graduated with the Highest Distinctions, Cum Laude, and Phi Beta Kappa. She has worked with the MFA's Studio Art Classes the past three summers, as well as has taught several classes during the school vacation weeks. She often incorporates Children's Literature and Story-telling into her teaching.
