Ten-week session: Jan 6-Mar 17 (no class Feb 24)

Study the use of color and its practical application. Explore palettes used by the Impressionists and Dutch masters, and learn a variety of techniques for color application in painting. You may bring your own supplies; a list of required materials is distributed during first class. Open to all levels.

About the Instructor

Speaker: Judy Ryan
Speaker Bio: Judy Ryan received her MFA in Painting from Boston University and a BFA in Painting from the University of Illinois. She has in-depth experience as a painting conservator and received specialized training in traditional drawing and painting in an atelier in Boston. Throughout her career, she has received several grants and awards for artists, including the Frances A. Kinnicutt Foreign Travel Award. She continues to maintain a work studio and residence in Boston at the historic Fenway Studios Artist’s Cooperative, where she actively serves on the Board of Directors.
