Learn the fundamentals of color theory and its practical application for the visual artist. Through mixing colors using oil paints, create a notebook of color charts for reference when painting. Learn about complimentary colors, analogous colors, tints and shades, color temperature, color intensity and neutral grays.

About the Instructor
Judy Ryan has an MFA in Painting from Boston University and a BFA in Painting from the University of Illinois. For over 20 years, Ms. Ryan has taught all levels of drawing and painting in various mediums. Currently, she teaches adult art classes at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and offers painting workshops in France in the summer. Ms. Ryan has received several grants and awards, including the Frances A. Kinnicutt Foreign Travel Award administered through the Worcester Art Museum. Ms. Ryan maintains a studio in Boston at the historic Fenway Studios Artists’ Cooperative and is a member of the North Shore Art Association in Gloucester, MA.
