Learn to take an idea or story and bring it to life with simple animation techniques. Explore and study the many methods through which 2D animated films are made, from cartoons, morphing, abstraction, realism, and more! Class includes hands-on tutorials in character design, timing, and image capture. The class will also feature screenings of hard-to-find and influential short animated films.

About the Instructor

Dani Katz studied animation at Tufts/SMFA (BFA 2016) and is the co-creator of the cartoon “Trinity of the Rift.” He specializes in both hand drawn and digitally rendered animation and comics with a personal focus in character development and design and world-building. His work fluctuates between fictional stories, personal works, and experimental short films.
