Two-Day Workshop: Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14

Course Description: Learn basic rug hooking, pulling colored loops of yarn or fabric through a stiff woven base, and simple ways of finishing. Rug hooking began as a scrap-bag alternative to carpets found in wealthy homes. Now it is a fine art, valued for its color and texture. Start a small project to finish at home. Although you will use a pre-printed pattern in this workshop, you will learn the skills needed to create or adapt your own. All levels welcome. Instructor: Stephanie Allen-Krauss

This Workshop meets and takes place at: Loring-Greenough House, 12 South St., Jamaica Plain

The MFA is delighted to present programming with the Eliot School. In the heart of Jamaica Plain, the Eliot School is a short ride from the MFA. Parking is plentiful and the bus stops one block away. All tools are provided, except as noted. Materials lists are distributed during first class. No previous experience required.
