Study the human figure and experiment with different drawing techniques using a variety of media including leads, colored pencils and conte crayons.Learn to measure bodily proportion and compare stylistic differences in classical art from the MFA collections of figurative work in the galleries to find underlying ideas, themes, and a common language.

About the Instructor

Rosanne Trolan completed the Certification Program in Art Education at Massachusetts College of Art, attended The Paris American Academy in Paris in a graduate degree program majoring in painting, and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts with a BFA and a minor in art history. She is an art educator in special education at the Cotting School in Lexington, MA, where she has worked for the past twenty years. Rosanne was formerly a member of the advisory council for the Arts for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, into which she was unanimously voted for a second three-year term. She recently received the “Award for Excellence in Art Education” from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
