The class is an introduction to the methods and applications of the primary textile construction techniques of felting and weaving. Be inspired by woven and felted crafts in the collection, then in the studio create your own artwork using these traditional skills.

About the Instructor
Ebla Hawi is a visual artist and educator with a background in digital and studio art. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Fiber Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where she also received a Post-Baccalaureate certificate in Textile Design/Fiber Arts. Ebla holds a BFA from the College of Fine Arts in Damascus, Syria. She has taught many craft making classes for different age groups in Syria and the United States that focus on using repurposed materials, and believes that art is a both a universal language and a tool of expression.
