Technical skills lay the foundation of every artistic practice. This course will concentrate of the formal elements of line, shape, form, color, texture, space and value through this rigorous drawing experience. Learn how to make decisions in order to communicate concepts such as mark making, surface manipulation, illusion of depth and light and shadow. Classes meet exclusively in the MFA galleries to use the Collection as a source of inspiration and discussion.

About the Instructor
Aimee Belanger is a Boston-based painter, printmaker, and educator. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art with a BFA in painting, and has taught at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Brookline Center for Adult Education, and Exploration Summer Programs. She currently works at the Distillery studios in South Boston and teaches visual art for Boston Public Schools.
