Thursday, Ten-week session, Oct 4 to Dec 13 (No Class Nov 22)
Course Description: This course is a balance of fundamental skills with the camera, an overview of the history of the medium and discussions of where photography is now and where it might go. As an introductory level class, no prior knowledge of cameras is assumed and all technical information will be geared towards beginners. There will also be a few short readings assigned throughout the course to give context to the discussions.
Instructor: Amy Giese
An alumna of Amherst College and New England School of Photography, Amy earned her BA in Fine Arts and her NESOP diploma in Advertising (major) and Fine Art Black & White (minor). She completed an MFA in Photography through Parsons The New School for Design (Parsons), New School University in New York City.
