Gain an intimate understanding of how to conceptualize and construct a portrait. Explore concepts and techniques such as proportion, structure, features, and likeness, to develop accurate and expressive portraits. The class starts with a one session drawing and then progresses incrementally into a four session drawing. Class will break for a short lunch.

Students are responsible for providing their own supplies.

About the Instructor

Jeff Ellse is a Boston based artist whose current work explores everyday objects that sustain and perpetuate modernity. He received his MFA from The Art Institute of Boston in 2009 and BFA 2006. He shows locally has been featured in the Boston Globe, Boston Phoenix, and Artscope. Ellse is also an adjunct professor of Drawing and Painting at the Art Institute of Boston.
