This special evening begins with a visit to the “Terry Winters: The Structure of Things” exhibition, where the instructor will introduce a selection of prints and drawings by the New York-based artist whose wide-ranging interests encompass scientific processes and mathematical theories. You’ll view the work from an artist’s perspective, as your instructor describes the printmaker’s approach. On our way to the studio, stop at Taste Café to pick up wine, coffee, or something cold to take with you to the art-space next door.

In the second hour, the instructor will introduce a simple block printing demonstration using “Soft Kut” printing blocks, hand printing barrens, a variety of papers and inks. Bring a friend or make a few as you create your own abstract prints!

Supplies will be provided.
