Two-day Workshop: July 28 and July 29
Course Description:
Painting out-of-doors, this class will take place in the gardens of the MFA and the Emerald Necklace park and waterway. Students will learn the properties of watercolor while exploring the color, perspective, light, and form of landscapes and natural objects. Landscape paintings and the history of Plein Air painting will be discussed in the galleries of the museum. All levels welcome.
Instructor: Kaitlyn Stubbs
Kaitlyn Stubbs holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting, with Anatomy Certification, from the New York Academy of Art (2012). She earned her BFA in Painting from the University of Georgia (2010). Kaitlyn’s work has been exhibited in galleries in Athens, Georgia; Boston, Brooklyn and New York City. She has travelled extensively through South America, Europe, and Australia. While at NYAA, she received rigorous technical training in oil painting, drawing, anatomy, and printmaking. Living and working in New York City, she is a curator at The Cupping Room in SoHo and is currently preparing for an artist’s residency in Leipzig, Germany.
