Studio Art Financial Aid Application

Students ages 5–18 and adults in the MFA Studio Art Classes, regardless of artistic ability are eligible to apply for financial aid. Financial aid is determined based on family size/number of dependents and the total annual household gross income must not exceed 50% of the state median income as determined by EEC.

If applicants meet these requirements they are eligible for full financial assistance.

Individuals who are awarded MFA Studio Art Class financial aid are limited to one course and one workshop per season. Children and teens receiving financial aid for summer classes are limited to one weeklong session per summer.

Applicants are expected to attend class regularly and participate in all class activities.

Financial aid is based upon availability and is not guaranteed.

How to Apply

  1. Complete and fill out all the required fields at least one week before the class is scheduled to begin.
  2. Agree to and sign the Terms and Conditions Agreement (an electronic signature is acceptable).
  3. Submit a copy of your most recent documentation of income from all contributing adults in the household. Acceptable forms of income documentation include pay stubs, tax returns, social security disbursement, child support order, disability disbursement, retirement disbursement, and/or 1099. The income documentation may be e-mailed to artclasses@mfa.org.

Financial information will remain confidential and will be shredded and disposed of after determining eligibility.

Terms and Conditions Agreement

As an applicant for placement in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Studio Art Financial Aid, I agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • Should my application be accepted and I am offered a spot in a Studio Art Class, I will be in attendance for the duration of the session.
  • I will be available for all Studio Art Class sessions.
  • I will show up to all Studio Art Classes on time.
  • I will provide own transportation to and from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
  • I will adhere to the MFA Studio Art Class Policies.
  • I will notify the instructor of any absences prior to the start of the class.
