In celebration of the MFA Teen Arts Council 10th Anniversary, we are launching a Teen Art Exhibition to open at the MFA in July 2016. We are partnering with Boston Public Schools to present artwork by teenagers from the City of Boston, juried by their peers in our Teen Arts Council.

Theme

Home: What is home? Does home influence your identity? Does identity influence your home? Can it be defined by physical space, environment, family/friends, culture, religion, community or demographics? Can this change over time?

Details

  • Artists must be high school students attending the Boston Public Schools, or attending other schools but are residents of Boston
  • Entries must respond to the theme Home
  • Entries must include an artist statement no longer than 250 words describing your artwork and how it is connected to the theme Home
  • Paintings, drawings, photography and other mediums (no three dimensional art)
  • Submit ONE of your best works
  • All entries must be dry, final and original artwork (no copies of other artist’s work)
  • Entries must be no larger than 24” x 36” or a total area of 864 square inches
  • No entry fee
  • Framing will be handled by the Museum of Fine Arts

Submit one high resolution photo of your artwork and your artist statement via Google Drive and share with teenartscouncil.mfa@gmail.com by 5 pm EST Thursday, March 10, 2016
