Matsumoto Kôshirô II took the name Ichikawa Danjûrô IV in 1754.11, but later took back the name Matsumoto Kôshirô II in 1770.11 when his son Matsumoto Kôshirô III (who had used that name since 1754.11) took the name Ichikawa Danjûrô V. Two years later, in 1772.11, Matsumoto Kôshirô II became Ichikawa Ebizô III and kept thIs name until his death in 1778.
