DescriptionThis bright blue glazed faience amulet represents the solar god Ra-Horakhty as a falcon with the sun's disk above his head. Because Ra-Horakhty was associated with the rising sun, amulets of him were believed to assist the wearer with rebirth each day in the afterlife.
