DescriptionOne of two armchairs (65.2500–65.2501). Walnut high back panels fully upholstered, as are seats, in floral needlework bordered by brass headed nails. Arms and seat sections of frame have shell and leaf carvings. Cabriole legs with knee carvings.
ProvenanceOctober 26, 1945, probably sold by Rosenberg & Stiebel, New York to Forsyth Wickes (b. 1876 - d. 1964), New York and Newport, RI; 1965, bequest of Forsyth Wickes to the MFA. (Accession Date: December 24, 1965)
