Ground cloth of cotton and linen plain weave, two pieces with seam at far right, selvedge runs along top edge (textile runs horizontally), wool or crewel embroidery; central vine in herringbone stitch with smaller stems in stem stitch, green leaves and pink, yellow, and red flower blossoms, botehs, and berries in New England Laid stitch (or Roumanian couching) and satin stitch with some centers in bullion stitch
