Possible cross-bar from back of a chair. Heavy rectangular bar with a square peg on the short ends for joining, one inner surface has depression from wear. Very similar pieces found elsewhere: see objects 20.1524, 20.1525. Most likely the chair was broken and dispersed over the site.
From Nubia, Kerma. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan.
