DescriptionFine wild silk ground, very open tabby weave. Pattern produced by interweaving heavy, twisted white cotton yarns which in places produces openwork patterns. Pattern entirely geometric: main field shows bands of cotton alternating with wider bands of ground decorated with triangles and diamonds; at each end, a narrow band showing diamonds and triangles and a narrow red or purple silk stripe. Made of three loom widths, seamed. Fibers browned.
