Circular medal of Benjamin West (1738-1820), commissioned by the Art Union of London.

Obverse: Bust of West looking to proper right; inscribed at proper left “WEST”, under bust “W.WILSON”, and below “1738-1820”.

Reverse. Group of five men supporting a fallen sixith in a triangular formation; one holds a flag, one at proper left holds a rag to wound of fallen man; inscribed at edge “ART-UNION OF LONDON.1866” and below “WILSON LONDON 1759”.
