A boy orator stands with his right foot advanced, his body wrapped in a himation, his head sunk on his breast. His hair is short in front and is plaited behind in a sort of short pigtail. Dark patina, even and almost black.

By 1885: perhaps Gréau Collection; by 1897: Sir Ch. Robinson Collection; 1902: with E. P. Warren (purchased from a London collector [Sir Charles Robinson?]); purchased by MFA from E. P. Warren, June 2, 1910, for $4,000.00 (this figure is the total price for MFA 10.159-10.230)
