Buddhist altar cloth (uchishiki) with overall repeating pattern of lotus and scrolling leaves in gilt paper strip discontinuous supplementary patterning wefts on a reddish-orange twill-weave silk ground; in one corner is a sixteen-petal chrysanthemum in white and yellow silk outlined in purple and a paulownia motif in green silk and gold outlined in white silk; lined with plain-weave hemp.
