Bar variation quilt in wool twill burgundy-colored ground with bull’s eyes made of blue and white plaid and black pieces of plain weave wool wound around red center also in plain weave wool; on-point quilting pattern with 5 stitches per inch; edges bound front to back with blue and white plaid re-inforcing visible through wore areas; brown broken twill backing.


1890's, made by Minnie Leiby, Wanamaker, PA; before 2013, given by descent within Leiby Family to Minnie Leiby's grand-nephew, Robert Leiby, Wanamaker, PA; 2013, sold by Leiby to Gerald Roy, Warner, NH; 2013, sold by Roy to the MFA. (Accession date: May 29, 2013)
