Square card table with rounded ends and elliptic front with central tablet, supported by four straight legs terminating in pointed double-taper feet; one fly-leg at proper right supporting hinged top; central tablet veneered with mahogany; rails with bird’s-eye maple; patterned inlay on skirt and feet.


Branded "G. H. RICHARDS" in several locations


Probably owned originally by a G. H. Richards of Portsmouth, New Hampshire; 1995, offered for sale at Northeast Auctions, March 5, 1995, lot 447; probably purchased by Nathaniel T. Dexter of Boston at that auction and subsequently bequeathed to the Museum (Accession Date June 21, 2000).
