Made from India shawl by Miss Deborah Lincoln for her twin nieces, Elizabeth M. and Maria A. Revere, born December 6, 1828, the grand-daughters of Paul Revere; short, high waisted with fullness of both skirt and bodice gathered into piped and corded waistband and square neckband, short full sleeves with drawstring, hook and eye at neck and waist in center back but dresses open entire length of back, deep border, shallower border with floral spray enclosed by circular flowering stem repeated forms bottoms of skirts; bottoms of skirts faced with fine white cotton.
