DescriptionTapering octagonal body on stepped, molded base. Handles fit into octagonal sockets. S-curved spout. Hinged, domed cover with octagonal baluster finial. One side engraved with a coat of arms.

Struck under base with hallmarks (lion's head erased, Britannia, date letter for 1715-6) and with maker's mark of Simon Pantin; the cover with lion's head erased and maker's mark of Simon Pantin.
InscriptionsThe arms appear to be those of a lady of the Rolle family of Stevenston, Devon, or of its collateral branch of Lewknor, Oxfordshire.
