Countermarks: owl to left and uncertain object, each in circular incuse
Reverse: Griffin standing to left, left foreleg raised.

Acquired in the division of coins following the excavations at Assos. Some coins in the group were said to have been "purchased from natives of the surrounding district." No specific findspot is known for this coin. 1884: gift of the Archaeological Institute of America to the Museum of Fine Arts
