Design: center vignette “Welcoming Lafayetter to Our Shores” with gilt border, flanked by two monograms “SD” (Sarah Derby?), two classical vignettes with gilt borders, French and American flags crossing staff with Phrygian cap and tied with bow; floral swags above, decorative blue and gilt border, silvered binding at top. Carved and pierced ivory sticks decorated with gilt-silver and steel piqué work. Diamond paste studs in rivet.
