Ground: red wool, very much worn so that coarse cotton lining is visible. Design: (repeated 3 times) turbaned rider wearing a veil (Muhammad) riding a horse with a crowned woman’s head and peacock’s tail (Buraq) - (Koran Chap. XVII), worked with metal thread (gilded silver wound on pale orange silk) and blue green and cream colored silk with outlines of black silk. (Couched stitches, with a little satin stitch).
