This is a conical jar stopper made of a well levigated light gray mud/clay. It has clear fingerprints and some incised tick-marks. Two fragments have broken off from the upper edges and are missing.
From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave 1092. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
