DescriptionCover possibly for a bench, embroidered with polychrome crewel threads in chain, stem, long and short stiches on a cotton-and-linen ground fabric. Design of bowl of fruit and flowers at each end from which grow flowering vines. Stylized leaves and identifiable flowers (carnations, irises, tulips) are combined with crowns and other "collar-like" motifs which tie the vines together. Coat of arms at one end shows a rampant lion. Soiled with a few darned areas, but otherwise in good condition.
