DescriptionCover for the top of a bench. The design of irregular points, zig-zags, etc. is worked with pink, yellow, green, blue, and light neutral wools, in several tones and values of each color, and is outlined in part, with dark brown. The stitch, a straight single stitch, parallel to the warp of the canvas, is sometimes called Florentine stitch, Hungarian point, Bargello work, etc. Formerly mounted on modern bench (25.191.2).
