DescriptionDecorated in Holland, about 1725-40. The pear-shaped jug has a scroll-shaped handle and slightly domed cover with a simple knop. The body is painted on each side with an Oriental boy wearing a turquoise tunic and orange trousers holding a flowering branch and with flowering bamboo and branches on a patch of turquoise ground to the right. Sprays of flowers in iron red, turquoise, blue, and gold decorate the spout, handle and cover. The rim of the cover is painted iron red.
