Pear-shaped body embossed around mid-section and rim with floral design. Crest of Dublin engraved on plain neck, everted spout with undulating rim. Recurving scroll handle. Three applied legs formed as lions paws, surmounted by lion terminal bust. Initialed I R on bottom. Mark on bottom.
MARKS: on the underside of the body, maker's mark SW in a rectangle (possibly illustrated in Bennet, 1972, p347); harp crowned; Hibernia.
INSCRIPTIONS: engraved on underside, "I*R".
SCRATCHES: engraved on underside, "6 = 16".
ARMORIALS: engraved at the neck of the jug, an unidentified crest of an antlered stag facing dexter.
